Bali is the ideal destination for family holidays. There is so much to see and do for both young and old. This guide will help you put together all fun things that you can do with your kids in Bali so that your holiday becomes a holiday to remember.

Waterpark in Bali with kids

A fun activity to do with kids is going to a water park. This is fun for both older and younger children. Waterbom is the largest water park in Bali and is located in Kuta. In addition to the pools, they have several slides with different speeds. On some slides you go down in pairs in a band. They have a lazy river and a water playground especially for the smaller kids. Finally, they have the flow rider where you can learn to surf and a bungee jump park. They also offer high quality, varied food and places to relax.

Bali wake park is another water park which is fun to go to with kids. They offer a cable park where you can wakeboard and water ski. In addition, they have one of the largest aqua parks in Asia. Bali wake park is located in Denpasar.

There are several places in Bali where you can practice water sports such as surfing, canoeing, jet skiing, parasailing and banana riding.

You can rent a jet ski at Water Sport Bali. Children who are not yet experienced in driving a jet ski can be accompanied by a guide. The guide then sits on the back of the jet ski so that children can learn jet skiing themselves. Jet skiing is possible from 8 years old. Water Sports Bali is located in Tanjung Benoa beach in Nusa Dua. In addition to jet skiing, you can also go parasailing, snorkeling, diving and on the banana or donut. 

Parasailing and wake boarding is possible at Bintang Beach Club Dive & Water sport. They also have a banana and other inflatables that you have to sit on behind a boat. Bintang Beach Club Dive & Water Sport is located near by Nusa Dua.

You can surf on almost any beach, if you walk onto the beach from your hotel or go to another beach, there are several places where you can rent surf boards or get a lesson.

Animal visit in Bali with kids

Another fun activity to do with children in Bali is visiting animals in one of the parks. Monkey forest is the place if you want to see monkeys walking around in the wild. Here you can also take a selfie with a monkey. Monkey forest is located in Ubud

Bali Safari and Marine Park is the place to be if you want to spot animals such as tigers, elephants, orangutan and many birds by means of a safari car. It is a fun and educational experience for children.

Another fun outing for the whole family is a visit to the Bali zoo. In addition to admiring the many animals, you can have breakfast with orangutans, wash elephants with mud. There is also a water playground, a petting zoo and pony rides for the little ones.

Bali Bird park is the place to spot the most beautiful birds. The regions where the birds come from has been recreated. This way you go from the deep misty jungle of Sumatra to the African Savannah.

You can spot reptiles in the Bali Reptile Park, spend a day among the elephants in the Elefant Safari park or visit the Tasta Zoo. It is fun to go rafting with adventurous older children. This can be done in various places such as Gianyar, Ubud and Klungkung.

In Payangan Village in Ubud you can go rafting in de Ayung river, this is de most popular rafting location in Bali. It is an adrenaline experience for 14 kilometres long. You paddle trough forest, rice paddies, waterfalls and rice paddies so that is really cool. There are different levels of rafting difficulty from light to medium. It took 2 hours to finish the rafting course and it was an amazing experience.

ATV tour in Bali with kids

There are several places where you can do an ATV ride with children. There are ATV tours that go through the jungle, others go over the beach or through the rice fields. An ATV tour is a very adventurous experience in Bali. You ride with your own all-terrain vehicle (ATV) off the beaten track. You follow a guide with your quad bike following a challenging track. You ride through rice fields, forest and a riverside with traditional Balinese villages. The ATV tour is suitable for all skill levels. There are different kinds of routes, there is a route in Ubud where you go through waterfalls and muddy tunnels, this is very adventurous and you will feel an adrenaline kick. There are also routes through the countryside for a calmer experience.

Another fun activity to do with slightly older children is karting at Karting Star Bali Club. The go-kart track is located in Jimbaran. The track is 400m long with a bridge. To go karting you have to be 120 cm+.

Another fun activity to do with children is a bike tour through rice fields in Bali. This is suitable for children of all ages and a fun way to explore the rice fields of Bali. Diving and snorkeling in Bali with kids

Another fun experience to do with kids is snorkeling or scuba diving. There are several places in Bali where you can snorkel and dive well. First of all Amed and Tulamben, here you can see a shipwreck where beautiful coral grows and many fish swim. Being sunk since the 1980s, the wreck has become home to abundant marine life of all colors, shapes and sizes. Mantis shrimp, anemone fish, puffer fish, and if you’re lucky you might also spot turtles and reef sharks. The site is also famous for garden eels.

Blessed with beautiful dive conditions, wonderful marine life and some of the world’s rarest species. If you are diving in Bali then the North West including Menjangan Island and Bajul Bay should be on your list of dive sites to visit.

On the Balinese islands of Nusa Penida and Lembongan you can do a snorkeling or diving tour where you look for manta rays. Here you can also find beautiful coral and various fish. 

Another nice place for snorkeling is Lovina. Here you can see dolphins while snorkeling on the boat. They swim under and next to you.

Horse riding in Bali with kids

If you have kids who love horses, horse riding is a must do activity during your stay in Bali. In addition to riding lessons, you also can find training courses for horse care and stable management, show jumping lessons, vaulting lessons and camps, photoshoots and pony rides.
Another fun experience with horses is horse riding through the rice fields of Tegallalang in Ubud.

Another fun activity to do with kids is a cooking class. This is fun and educational for children and they get to know the Indonesian culture and local food. A cooking class can be done in many places in Bali. Some hotels offer it and otherwise it is possible in many places in Ubud and Gianyar. In many cooking classes you first go to the local market to buy the ingredients. You can also often choose from a vegetarian menu and a menu with meat.

At Berawa Art House, children can learn to make art from an early age. They do that here by giving workshops that use graphite, ink, watercolors and acrylics, among other things. 

It is also fun to make jewelry with children. This allows you to make something memorable of your holiday in Bali. This can be done in various places such as Canggu Jewelry Classes
You can also make jewelry in the Pondak Pekak Library in Ubud with children. Here you can not only make jewelry, but also read the books, learn the traditional dance and take a wood carving lesson.

At Five Art Studio you can discover Indonesian art with your children and make your own Balinese paintings. It is located in Keliki village nearby Ubud. They teach miniature Keliki Paining, Batik painting, wood carving, Balinese offering, wooden egg painting and t-shirt painting. 

You can also bake pots with children at Serayu Pot and make a mini terracotta or a ceramics pot. You can also paint your self-made pot with different colors. Serayu Pot is located in Ubud.

Another fun experience for kids is Bounce bali. This is Bali’s first trampoline park located at the finns Recreation Club. Kids can jump freely or join an organized activity like trampoline dodge ball or basketball. Parents can jump along or enjoy themselves in the Bounce Bar & Café which provides an overview of the entire trampoline park. Bounce Bali is the ideal activity for a rainy day.

Escape room in Bali with kids

Another fun activity to do with big, tough kids is go to one of the escape rooms in Bali. There are a few escape rooms around the island. In a team of 2-10 people, you can solve the mystery of the escape room by solving different clues. It’s a race against time to escape the room in time. You have 2 hours to escape. The rooms are decorated and decorated according to the theme to make it as real as possible. In addition to the furnished rooms, the latest technology, visuals and sound effects are also used to optimize the experience.

The escape room is for the real daredevils because it has an exciting, scary theme and there are some scary moments. The escape experience starts by receiving a mission from the gamemaster, then you have to find hidden clues and secret passages. It takes teamwork to solve the puzzles. If you can solve the mystery at the end through the puzzles and clues, it’s time to escape.

The minimum age is 5 years old and you can choose between 15 and 30 minutes of paragliding. Paragliding in Bali is definitely something you and your kids will never forget.
