Embark on an adventure to explore the underwater of Komodo National Park! This trip is perfect for those who have explored most of the islands in the national park, yet are still craving for more wonders. The park is definitely one of the best diving paradises in Indonesia. There is abundant of beautiful fish of different shapes and sizes, also wide bed of colorful hard and soft corals. The best time for you to see these wonders are around May to June or September to October. During wet season of November to January, it’s your best chance to encounter the manta rays!

Puri Sari Beach Hotel

During the 3 nights in this Komodo Diving Adventure, you will be staying at Puri Sari Beach Hotel. It is nicely situated on the beautiful Pede Beach outside the bustling Labuan Bajo city. In a secluded beach stretching about 350 meters, the four-start hotel was designed in harmony with the surrounding area. There are 21 rooms in total that have been decorated with traditional wood textures of Flores architecture. They also have a swimming pool and an amazing restaurant.

Diving: Komodo National Park

Besides the Jurassic Komodo dragons and the rocky landscape, the national park is also recognized as one of the top dive locations in the world. It is a UNESCO appointed world heritage, situated between Sumbawa and Flores and has 3 main islands: Komodo, Rinca, and Padar. 

The underwater of Komodo National Park houses a diversity of marine life. Colorful corals, mantas, dugongs and giant pelagic animals to name a few. There are also tiny pygmy seahorses, nudibranchs and frog fishes. The beaches, blue lagoons teeming with fish and some of the most spectacular underwater landscapes attract divers from all over the world.

The underwater topography is as diverse as the marine life. Dive sites vary from gentle slopes to walls, channels, flat bottoms, pinnacles, overhangs and caves covered by hundreds of different species of hard and soft corals.

Accommodation and Facilities

Puri Sari Beach Hotel has 21 rooms equipped with air-con and western style bathroom. They can be set up for double or twin-bed. The rooms feature a balcony or terrace for guests to enjoy spectacular views of the garden, pool or the sea. The front desk can assist with laundry, luggage storage or car rental requests. 

 

Itinerary: Komodo Diving Adventure

DAY 1: ARRIVE IN LABUAN BAJO AIRPORT - HOTEL      ▼

Welcome to Labuan Bajo! Port city and the entry point to the amazing Komodo National Park where you will begin your diving adventure. Once you arrive at the airport, our team will meet and transfer you directly to the hotel. If there is still time, you will be taken to our dive center to do some paperwork prior to diving. Free program for the rest of the day, so take the time to familiarize yourself with the location of hotel facilities or enjoy a stroll to the city.

DAYS 2: DIVING (3 DIVES/DAY)       ▼

Rise up early! Enjoy your breakfast and then at 7.30, you must be prepared to go to the dive center to join the other divers to begin the diving trip. During the day you will do 3 dives per day from the boat. The picnic lunch will be served between the dives. Return to the port around 5 PM in the afternoon and enjoy your free time until evening.

Day 3:DIVING (2 DIVES/DAY) - TREKKING IN RINCA ISLAND       ▼

Similar to the day before, you have to leave the hotel early at 07.30 for another day of diving. You will do 2 dives from the boat with lunch served in between them. In addition to this diving adventure, you will have the chance to encounter the star of the national park, the Komodo dragons.

We will take you to Rinca Island where in addition to seeing the dragons in their natural environment. Also, we will be able to see water buffalo, macaque monkeys, cockatoos and more during the trekking around the park, accompanied by a park ranger. Afterwards, we return to the boat to go back to Labuan Bajo.

DAY 4:HOTEL - AIRPORT       ▼

Enjoy your breakfast and then at the appointed time, we will transfer you back to Labuan Bajo airport to catch your flight to the next destination. Thank you for doing this Komodo diving adventure with us. Sampai Jumpa!

Puri Sari Beach Hotel is located in a quite area outside Labuan Bajo city. You will need to fly to Labuan Bajo Komodo airport (LBJ). We can organize the pickup from airport all the way to the hotel and return to make it easy for you.

FAQ

When is the best time of the year to do this tour?

Our favourite time for travel in Indonesia is between April to October. Although Indonesia is a great year-round destination, offering memorable experiences for all kinds of adventures. July to August are the peak summer months.

In West to Central part of the weather is delightfully warm and it’s a popular time for travellers to visit for holidays. Whilst if you wish to travel from October to April, the Eastern part Indonesia, like Banda and Raja Ampat, would be the best option.

If you wish to have a relaxing journey in Indonesia with less crowds, the shoulder months of April to June and September to October are ideal and slightly more economic. If you must travel in ‘high season’ but want to avoid the crowd, worry not. There are numbered of unbeaten track in Indonesia ready to be explored.

How do I get to Labuan Bajo?

Currently, local direct flights to Labuan Bajo (LBJ) are available from Jakarta airport (CGK) and Denpasar, Bali (DPS) where most international routes arrive and depart. From Jakarta, direct flights operate one time daily by Batik Air and Garuda Indonesia. While from Denpasar, there are more options in addition to these 2 airlines which are AirAsia, Wings Air and Nam Air.

What should I bring?

Tropical areas are usually warm and often sweaty places, especially if you have Borneo or Sulawesi included in your travel. Check out our suggestions on What to Wear:

  • Comfortable and light shirt and at least a pair of long sleeves
  • Comfortable walking shoes or trekking shoes if your trip include some trekking
  • Shorts and long pants
  • Couple of pairs of socks
  • Waterproof Jacket/Raincoat

How hard is this tour?

We have classified our tours in 3 different classes. Always check which one suitable for your condition. If you have any doubt, you may consult to our travel expert.

Easy: Suitable for most people in good health. These trips can include short walk for days with around 2–3 hours in good paths and at low altitudes.

Medium: A reasonable level of fitness or technique is required, as these trips can require sustained endurance levels as the trip may include longer days of approximately 5-6 hours of activity or/and in higher altitudes, or snorkelling in strong current.

Hard: These trips are physically demanding and best suited for people with a high endurance level, good level of fitness and exercise regularly. Days can be long around 7-8 hours of activity, often at high altitudes, in remote regions and sometimes without a support vehicle nearby. Travellers may be required to carry their backpack, trip with trekking overnights without access to normal toilets or accommodations.
