Pristine Paradise Dive Resort is exclusively situated on the island of Una Una which is part of Togean Islands. The island is full of coconut trees with a small local community mainly occupied by working these trees. As the name reflects, the pristine island is quite secluded and calm. The time passes slowly on the island, with almost no signs that life changed here in the past decades. And because of that, the corals are thriving, attracting a diverse marine life with massive schools of fish. Through the hands of professional divers team of Pristine Paradise, we ensure the perfect experience while diving the acknowledged best dive sites of the Togian Islands.

Pristine Paradise Dive Resort

The resort organizes the diving trip with sophisticated equipment and accompanied by professional divers from the resort with extensive knowledge of marine life.

Pristine Paradise Dive Resort on the island of Una Una is part of Togean Islands region. The region is part of the Coral Triangle which is known to house roughly 75% of all coral species known to this day. There are 35 dive sites around Una Una and nearby islands for divers to explore. They contain amazing diversity of corals, sloping reefs, rock pinnacles and some muck diving sites. The surrounding area of Una Una Island is covered with house reefs.

Divers can easily spot cuttlefish, parrotfish, eagle rays, and some pelagic species. Dolphins and turtles usually pass by, as well as the occasional reef shark and barracudas. Una Una is one of the only places in the world to witness huge schools of whitebelly tobys, sometimes forming blankets over an entire reef, a behaviour that is still not fully understood.

When is the best time of the year to do this tour?

The weather in the Togian Islands is perfect for holiday all year round. Clear skies and hardly clouds are forming here. When it rains, it is usually in the early morning so it is going to be sunny and calm again after breakfast. Based on years of observation since the resort is built, it is safe to say that there is no rainy season in Togian Islands. There are months with bright blue skies, months with a little bit of clouds, but then that is the same year after year. Temperatures are normally around 30 degrees on land and 29 degrees Celsius in the water.

How do I get to Poso Airport?

Most flights to Poso (PSJ) are coming directly from Makassar (UPG). There are many non-stop flights from Denpasar, Bali (DPS) and Jakarta (CGK) to connect with international arrival/departure. If you are coming from the eastern region (Ambon, Raja Ampat, etc.), it is possible to fly direct from Ambon (AMQ) to Makassar.

How is phone reception and internet service at the resort?

There is a proper 4G tower in Wakai (the central village in the Togians) which covers part of the islands with the Telkomsel network. A little of it reaches Una Una, enough to send an SMS or have a phone call. With a bit of luck even a WhatsApp message is sent or received. But don’t worry, it takes some effort and if you want to be disconnected, that’s easy. If you are planning to buy a local SIM card we would advise the one by Telkomsel, they have the best coverage in remote places like the Togian Islands.

To give a more reliable way of communicating with the rest of the world, the resort installed a satellite WIFI receiver. It is a proper and stable connection that enables the use of Skype, banking apps etc. Given it is expensive data going through, the service is chargeable.

What payment methods are accepted at the resort for cash payment?

There are no ATMs on the Togian Islands, so make sure you prepare enough cash before or once you arrive at the airport prior to transfer to the resort. Internet connection at the resort allows payments via bank transfer (EUR) and PayPal, as well as Transferwise with credit card. The resort accepts cash in Euro if there is no other option, but Rupiah cash always works.
