Delve into the heart of the jungles of central Borneo to spend two nights among a large population of orangutans and gibbons among many other species on this Sebangau Orangutan Expedition. Explore wildlife through trekking and river cruises. Keep your eyes open as Sebangau National Park is also the home of the clouded leopard. Take out the lens of your camera and your most adventurous part to live a unique experience outside the usual routes of tourists.
Welcome to Palangkaraya! The city name consists of 2 words; one from Dayak Ngaju language, “Palangka” meaning sacred site and a word from Sanskrit language, “raya” meaning vast. So, the combination of the two means a vast sacred site. Meet our friendly guide who will take you by car for about 3 hours to each Baon Bango Harbor which is your starting point of sail by canoe into the jungle of Sebangau Park. The sail should be roughly 2-3 hours, depends on the stream. Along the river bank, you can spot some animals such as proboscis monkeys, crocodiles, even some enchanting birds.
Lunch will be served in a local restaurant on the way. On arrival at the park, settle down in your accommodation and have dinner at a camp. At night, depends on the water level, it is possible to do some trekking.
Note: Flight arrival must be in the morning. Otherwise, a stay will be arranged at Baon Bango Village.

After the trekking, we sail back to Baon Bango to continue by car to Tangkiling, from where we will start another sail towards the Orangutan Island. As the name suggests, here you can spot the orangutans from the canoe.
If you still have some time, we will visit the Museum of Balanga where you will learn the history and life traditions of Dayak tribes in Borneo. At the end of the day, we will transfer you to the hotel in Palangkaraya city. Lunch will be provided en route. In the evening, we will visit a night market and have dinner in a local restaurant.
