FAQ

When is the best time of the year to do this tour?

Bunaken National Park is best for diving during the dry season which is usually from April to October. Most sea creatures in Bunaken are year round, with some are easier to spot on certain time such as sharks in June and dolphins in JulySperm whales are usually seen migrating through the area around July and August. During rain season which starts around November to February, it is still possible to dive but visibility is reduced in addition to rough surface due to winds and rains.

In Lembeh Straits, the waters are generally warmer during October to March, temperature can reach its peak around 28-29°C. In July to August, you can usually encounter the largest numbers of critters due to their reproductive cycles. Water temperature during this period is cooler, around 25-26°C. The best visibility is between October and December, while the lowest is January to February. The surface of the sea in Lembeh Straits can be a little rough around June to September due to strong winds.

If I arrive/depart in Manado outside the scheduled boat transfers, can I book a private boat?

Unfortunately, the resort is unable to do late night or early morning transfers to/from the resort due to safety reasons including sea condition. The option is to stay in Manado if your flight arrives after 5 PM or depart before 9 AM. We can help to book you a hotel room in Manado so do not hesitate to let us know.
