This 5-night trip combines the culture and lush nature of the island of Lombok with the paradise beaches of the Gili Islands. Lombok surprises with its tranquility, its people and its huge waterfalls.

Being so close to Bali, Lombok is totally different. Streets without traffic and friendly culture are its strengths. On a private local boat, you will spend three nights on two of the three Gili islands so that you can explore them on your own and discover the amazing seabed that it has.

Itinerary: Lombok & Gili Trip

DAY 1: WELCOME TO LOMBOK - SENGGIGI       ▼

Upon arrival at Lombok airport or the port if you come by boat, we will be waiting for you with a sign with your name to take you to your hotel in the Senggigi area. The rest of the day will be for you to enjoy the beach and the incredible sunset of Senggigi with the Bali Volcano in the background. Welcome to Lombok!

DAY 2:NORTH LOMBOK TOUR      ▼

Today, you will have an adventure exploring the northern part of Lombok. You will have the opportunity to share with the locals while you will feel the lush nature of Lombok. After a good breakfast at the hotel, your guide and driver will pick you up to experience the natural beauty, culture and see how people have lived in this region for centuries.

We start our route along the coast and stop at Pusuk Pass where groups of mischievous monkeys are normally found. We continue our way to Beleq Village, an abandoned traditional Sasak Village and trek to Selong Hill to enjoy the unique panorama of plantation.

You will start a small trek to the Sendang Gile, located 600 meters above sea level at the foot of the Rinjani mountain. It is a cool and quiet hill where you can rest in the middle of nature. A lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we take you back to your hotel and time for you to enjoy the beach or the hotel facilities.

DAY 3:LOMBOK - GILI ISLANDS       ▼

After the deserved breakfast at the hotel, you will have the transfer at the indicated time to the port from where you will take a private local boat to cross to Gili Trawangan, one of the three islands that make up this paradise just 15 minutes from Lombok.

Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and rest of the day at leisure to explore the island on your own, snorkel and dine at one of the many restaurants on the shoreline throughout the island.

In these islands motor vehicles are not allowed so if you come with suitcases and do not want to walk with them, it is best to take a Cidomo (horse-drawn carriage) that you can find them just after leaving the pier. They are like the taxis of the Gilis Islands.

DAY 4:FREE DAY IN GILI TRAWANGAN       ▼

This day, time and space will be yours. We suggest you to take walks around the island or rent a bicycle or snorkeling equipment and discover the wonderful seabed of these islands. Look well because these islands are home to many species of turtles and it is wonderful to be able to swim with them. Always remember that the sea is  their space and we must respect it. You can also hire a massage and go to dinner on a terrace on the beach with live music and taste the local Indonesian cuisine.

DAY 5:GILI TRAWANGAN - GILI AIR       ▼

At the indicated time, we will pick you up to take you to neighboring Gili Air. Gili Air is smaller island than Gili Trawangan and a little quieter but with a great offer of water activities and restaurants. You will have the whole day to explore this paradise of turquoise waters.

DAY 6:GILI - LOMBOK - END OF ADVENTURE       ▼

At the indicated time, we will pick you up to take you to neighboring Gili Air. Gili Air is smaller island than Gili Trawangan and a little quieter but with a great offer of water activities and restaurants. You will have the whole day to explore this paradise of turquoise waters.

FAQ

When is the best time of the year to do this tour?

Our favourite time for travel in Indonesia is between April to October, although Indonesia is a great year-round destination, offering memorable experiences for all kinds of adventures. July to August are the peak summer months. In West to Central part of the weather is delightfully warm and it’s a popular time for travellers to visit for holidays, whilst if you wish to travel from October to April, the Eastern part Indonesia, like Banda and Raja Ampat, would be the best option.

If you wish to have a relaxing journey in Indonesia with less crowds, the shoulder months of April to June and September to October are ideal and slightly more economic. If you must travel in ‘high season’ but want to avoid the crowd, worry not, there are numbered of unbeaten track in Indonesia ready to be explored.

What should I bring?

The tropics is a warm and often sweaty place, especially if you have Borneo or Sulawesi included in your travel. Check out our suggestion on What to Wear:

  • Comfortable and light shirt and at least a pair of long sleeves
  • Comfortable walking shoes or trekking shoes if your trip include some trekking
  • Shorts and long pants
  • Couple of pairs of socks
  • Waterproof Jacket/Raincoat

How do I get to Lombok?

From Singapore and Malaysia, you can take a direct flight to Lombok International Airport, which is located not too far from Mandalika. Flights are also available from various major cities in Indonesia such as Jakarta, Surabaya, and Bali. From Jakarta, the flight will take about 2 hours, while from the nearby Bali, it will only take about 30 minutes. From Bali, you can also take a ferry from Padang Bai Harbor to Lembar Harbor in Lombok. 

How hard is our tour?

We have classified our tours in 3 different classes. Always check which one suitable for your condition. If you have any doubt, you may consult to our travel expert.

Easy: Suitable for most people in good health. These trips can include short walk for days with around 2–3 hours in good paths and at low altitudes.

Medium: A reasonable level of fitness or technique is required, as these trips can require sustained endurance levels as the trip may include longer days of approximately 5-6 hours of activity or/and in higher altitudes, or snorkelling in strong current.

Hard: These trips are physically demanding and best suited for people with a high endurance level, good level of fitness and exercise regularly. Days can be long around 7-8 hours of activity, often at high altitudes, in remote regions and sometimes without a support vehicle nearby. Travellers may be required to carry their backpack, trip with trekking overnights without access to normal toilets or accommodations.
