The renowned Gili Islands comprise three idyllic isles: Gili Air, Gili Meno, and Gili Trawangan, nestled in the northwest of Lombok. Each is adorned with pristine white sand beaches, crystal-clear waters teeming with vibrant coral reefs and marine life. An exceptional feature of these islands is the absence of cars or motorcycles, fostering an atmosphere of serene tranquility.

Along the shoreline, a diverse array of beachfront cafes, restaurants, and bars await, offering an unparalleled selection of cocktails and a fusion of local and international cuisine.

For travelers seeking adventure, the Gili Islands offer a plethora of activities. From renting snorkeling gear to embarking on diving excursions, kayaking expeditions, or fishing trips, there’s no shortage of options. Itinerary: Exploring the Enchanting Gili Islands

DAY 1: BALI - GILI AIR

Today begins our adventure to the paradisiacal Gilis Islands. At the agreed time, you will be picked up from your hotel in Bali for the transfer to the port, from which you will take the boat to the Gilis Islands. Motor vehicles are not allowed on these islands, so if you come with large suitcases and don’t want to walk with them, it is best to take a Cidomo (horse-drawn cart) that you can find as soon as you leave the jetty. They are like the taxis of the Gilis Islands. On arrival at your hotel, check in and the rest of the day free for you. We advise you to take walks around the island or rent a bike. You can also hire a massage and go for dinner on a terrace on the beach with live music and taste the local Indonesian cuisine.

FAQ

What is the best time to do this tour?

Our favorite time to travel to Indonesia is between April and October, although it is an excellent destination all year round that offers memorable experiences for all kinds of adventures. July to August is high season. In western and central Indonesia, the climate is warm and is the most popular time among travelers to come on vacation, but if you prefer to travel from October to April, the eastern part of Indonesia, such as Banda and Raja Ampat, would be the best choice.

If you want to have a relaxing trip with fewer crowds, the months of April to June and september to October are ideal and a little cheaper. If you can only travel in “high season” but want to avoid the crowd, don’t worry because Indonesia still has many places little traveled by mass tourism.

How do I get to Denpasar?

By Air

The gateway to enter Bali by a flight route is through the Ngurah Rai International Airport. International and national flights are available around the clock, to take the visitor to the Island of The Gods.

The airport is scheduled to close once a year during the Balinese Nyepi ceremony, for 24 hours. At Nyepi, every corner of Bali is performing the sacred rituals which made the island ceased any activities outside of these rituals for one whole day.

Overland

Public transport to Bali is available through travel companies and busses. If you opt to experience a road trip, be sure that you are equipped and ready for the long hours.

By Sea

Bali is accessible by ferry ride from an island of Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara. In Lombok, you can explore the beauty of Mount Rinjani and pristine beaches on the Gili islands.
From Java Island, you can get to Bali by taking a ferry from Banyuwangi. The city with the slogan of The Sunrise of Java is where you can embark to experience the adventurous path to Ijen Crater and its mesmerizing Blue Fire.

Difficulty

We have classified our tours into 3 different types of difficulty. Always check which one is right for your condition. If you have any questions, you can consult our travel expert.

Easy: Suitable for most people in good health. These trips can include short walks for days with around 2 to 3 hours on good roads and at low altitude.

Medium: A reasonable level of physical or technical condition is required, as these trips may require sustained resistance levels and travel may include longer days of approximately 5-6 hours of activity and/or higher altitudes as well as snorkeling in strong currents.

Hard: These trips are physically demanding and more suitable for people with a high level of endurance, good level of physical condition and regular exercise. The days can last about 7-8 hours of activity, often at high altitudes, in remote regions and sometimes without a nearby support vehicle. Travelers may need to carry their backpack or travel with trekking at night without access to normal bathrooms or accommodations.
