Welcome to a  great nature & beauty tour through Sumatra!

Blessed with unmatched natural wealth, Sumatra has one of the richest ecosystems in the world. After this tour through Sumatra, you will discover the real beauty of this island of Indonesia, from the top of its majestic volcanoes to the lush jungle, down to sea level, where the idyllic virgin beaches are scattered throughout the island.

You will start our tour through Sumatra visiting the city of Medan, where you will discover the authentic urban Indonesia, including the ruined Dutch colonial buildings, the Sultan’s Palace and the street food stalls that come to life as the sun goes down.

You will continue our adventure tour through Sumatra in the Tangkahan elephant safari, with which we will carry out different activities and get to know these mammals more thoroughly. You will follow the route mounted on a 4×4 Jeep until we reach Bukit Lawang. About 100 km northwest of the capital, Bukit Lawang is a riverside town on the edge of Mount Leuser National Park. In the past, this village was a kind of sanctuary for orangutans and although no longer exists, it is still a good basis for watching our red-haired cousins. Mount Leuser National Park is listed by UNESCO as one of the most biodiversity areas of the planet. In addition to primates, the park is home to hundreds of species of other mammals and birds, most of them rare or endangered.

A private guide is essential during the visit, both to help us locate the orangutans in the jungle dens and to protect the delicate ecosystem. During our tour, you will do several walking routes inside the jungle. The adventure will continue visiting the Brastagi volcanoes and exploring the surroundings of Lake Toba. Located in northern Sumatra, Lake Toba is the largest volcanic lake in the world.

You will cross to the island of Samosir, which is located in the middle of the lake, and you will cross it by car visiting some of its traditional villages and enjoying the special charm that characterizes this small island. You will continue our trip towards Sipirok, along the way, you will visit several local plantations, a traditional market and you will bathe in some hot springs.

You will head towards Bukittinggi, from where you will make several excursions in the surroundings to learn about some of its traditions, soak up the local culture and visit the Sianok canyon and Lake Maninjau.

The next destination in our tour through Sumatra will be Cubadak Island. You will take a ferry from Padang Panjang to cross to Cubadak Island, where you will spend the last days relaxing and enjoying a multitude of activities at the Cubadak Paradiso Resort. Finally, you will return to the city of Padang from where you will take your flight, ending this great adventure tour through Sumatra.
